The Epidermolysis Bullosa Research Institute (EB RI) aims to translate promising basic research results into new drugs and therapies. Building on the successful work of the EB House Austria research unit, the institute aims to develop into a centre of innovation for drug research.
In 2025, the EB Research Institute was founded as a non-profit, translational research and development institute. Building on the knowledge gained by the EB House research unit, it now functions as an innovation center with a particular focus on drug research. The goal is to improve the lives of people with epidermolysis bullosa (EB) and to bring innovative treatment approaches and new therapeutic options directly to EB patients.
The EB Research Institute's official inauguration took place at the beginning of October.
